Msikaba bridge forms part of N2 Wild Coast Meander, which starts from Morgan Bay to Durban.

The project is meant to ease the volumes of traffic on the existing and operating N2 road to Durban. 

Transport and Community Safety MEC Xolile Nqatha visited the site this month to assess and establish the work that needs to be done to complete the projects; and challenges that led to its collapse.

EC DOT SEARCHING FOR RIGHTFUL BENEFICIARIES OF UNCLAIMED “GOVT. EMPLOYEE PENSION FUND” FOR 60 DECEASED EMPLOYEES

The Eastern Cape Department of Transport is desperately looking for relatives of 60 of its deceased former employees. The search for the relatives is in relation to the deceased former employees’ Government Employee Pension Fund.

Some of the deceased employees with unclaimed benefits passed on as far back as 2005, with the latest of the deceased having passed on in 2020.

The youngest of the deceased employees was born in 1970 with the oldest having been born in 1940.

The majority of the deceased employees were working within the road infrastructure unit of the department, working on fixing roads across the province.
